From an adults perspective I think they're so-so. I've rented every Barbie-related video for my 4 year-old daughter and of course she seems to enjoy them. Overall the film was OK,its no Oscar Worthy film and its not the best animated film of all time that would knock your socks off,but still if you got kids who loves Barbie than they'll like it,if not than watch a CGI cartoon that has humor and heart and isn't false looking.

Except the villain in that was acting all noble and that,whereas here you know that the villain in this movie was evil and bad. He kinda reminds me of a villain that was in a recent Disney movie that I have seen. The villain in this is OK,voiced by Martin Short. The songs were cringworthy but still I liked the song A Cat's Meow and If You Love Me For Me which was a cute song. Also I maybe the only one but all the male leads in the Barbie movies are so one-dimensional and they don't have a personality.

The animation in this is sorta plastic-looking as the animation on the character's hair is sorta fake and not as realistic as the Disney movies like Bolt or Tangled as you can see the hair strands on the character's hair. But things start getting complicated for Erika as she falls in love with the prince Dominick. So he teaches her all about being a princess. So its up to Erika to fill in for the princess with Jullian who makes her wear a Blonde wig so that the people at the kingdom will know that its the princess and not the commoner. One is a princess called Annalise while the other is a commoner called Erika(both voiced by Kelly Sheridan)who switch places as Annalise is kidnapped by an evil lord (voiced by Martin Short who was in Legend Of Oz,Dorothy's return and he was in Treasure Planet) who wants to take control of the kingdom(and if you seen Frozen there is one charcther that does the same thing as this guy,I'm not saying who he is but if you seen it you know what I'm on about). IвЂ™m really interested to watch your video next week, to see the opposing view. I know that IвЂ™m by far in the minority in this opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but IвЂ™ve always found the show to be severely underrated. ItвЂ™s by no means perfect (the removal of the iconic pop culture music is sorely missed, especially All Star), but I think that overall itвЂ™s better than the movie.

Overall, I genuinely think that Shrek the Musical is a better experience than the original Shrek. IвЂ™m honestly surprised that it wasnвЂ™t in the movie considering how much they overuse the short joke.ДЄs for the score, this is purely subjective, but even after having not seen it for a couple years, I still catch myself humming Story of my Life, DonвЂ™t Let Me Go, Freak Flag, Build a Wall (haha funny orange president man), and especially Who IвЂ™d Be. Speaking of Farquaad, heвЂ™s fleshed out her too, with him struggling with his own bad parentage, and the final reveal that his father was a dwarf is so good. He just strolls in, declares his love, Farquaad gets eaten, movie over). Having them stand up for themselves and storm the castle at the end makes for a much better climax than the ridiculously underwhelming one in the first movie (Like, the first Shrek has one of the most atrociously disappointing climaxes I have ever seen in a movie. In the original, they were just a device to get the plot going and barely did anything other than that. I much prefer how the fairy tale creatures work here. Having Fiona and Shrek bond over their bad childhoods was a smart decision. In the movie, weвЂ™re just told that Shrek is hated by society and thatвЂ™s heвЂ™s internalized this role and accepted it, but in the musical we actually get to see his parents thrusting this role upon him. Most of the iconic scenes and dialogue have remained intact, albeit with slightly less talented actors, but the fleshing out of the characters is excellent. This said, Shrek the Musical just kind of improves on the original in every way. I donвЂ™t think itвЂ™s bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I always feel underwhelmed by it considering to two masterpieces that came after it. So, I feel like I should make it clear that I love Shrek 2 and Forever After, but have never been a fan of the original Shrek. Okay so now that IвЂ™ve recovered I will now explain my reasons.
